XII. Mittelamerikanisches Filmfestival – Wien, November 2020
The XII. Central American Film Festival will take place from the 16th to the 20th of November, in Vienna, Austria.
Papaya Media Association announces the call for submissions for the pre-selection of participants in the official competition and parallel sections for the seventh film festival. The submission of works for the selection process is free of charge and the deadline is the 15th of August, 2020. Details on how the works should be presented are explained in the rules of participation.

The Central American Film Festival in Vienna, Austria has become an established event and a tradition for the city. Vienna has long been one of the most important cities for cultural events in the world, making it an ideal location to present the increasingly diverse and interesting films being produced in Central America.
This time the cycle for the obvious reasons of the Covid-19 pandemic, the normal development of the event will depend on the real circumstances in November, and we hope that our established audience will continue to join us to experience the most recent productions that Central American cinematography has to offer.
As in previous years, the parallel non-competitive sections include the following: “Pioneers of Central American cinema”; “Works in Progress”; “Guest film”; “Bonus films” and “Latin American View”, a selection of audiovisual works from Latin America that portray the current lifestyles of the Latin American people. These sections are fully described in the rules of participation.
The guest country of honour for 2020 is Argentina.
