The Central American Film Festival in Vienna has become an almost institutionalized tradition in the city. Vienna, without a doubt, is one of the most important cultural centers in Europe and offers an unparalleled setting to showcase the increasingly fascinating and brilliant productions emerging from the Central American region.

The festival is aimed at a diverse and culturally engaged audience. It targets the Latin American diaspora in Vienna, people seeking to deepen their understanding of the region and its film production, as well as cinema lovers. One of the festival’s goals is to give visibility to films and voices that remain underrepresented in European contexts.

As in previous editions, in addition to the Official Competition, the festival will feature non-competitive parallel sections, including spaces such as “Pioneers of Central American Cinema”, “Works in Progress”, “Guest Film”, “Bonus Films”, and “Latin American Perspective or Guest Country of Honor”. The guest country of honor for this edition will be Cuba.
